Carers you can trust

When you place your child in our care, you can have the peace of mind that a highly competent and qualified team is caring for your child. We carry out a rigorous recruitment process before employing only those whose vocation is the care of children. We seek to employ carers who are qualified, experienced and who share our vision and values. We look for individuals who have excellent communication skills so that they can build trusting and open relationships with children and parents. Our carers help provide a warm, friendly, loving environment where children can relax, feel safe and valued. There is something very special about the atmosphere that you will experience for yourself when you visit Playschool Nursery.

Staff training and qualifications

We send all our staff on Paediatric First Aid training to ensure that they are competently able to deal with any first aid incident or medical emergency. As part of our statutory training, staff also take Food Hygiene, Health and Safety and Safeguarding Children training when they join. All of our current and future staff undergo DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) vetting as part of our recruitment policy.

Staff recognition

Our team is carefully selected for their dedication, but also their love of children. “Super-Carers” are rewarded with our “Gone the Extra Mile” (GEM) award and we love to celebrate staff achievements, such as work anniversaries and the successful completion of a qualification. We offer our staff competitive salaries and adopt a culture of continuous progression and career development through access to regular training. We believe this is important as our low staff turnover ensures continuity of care.

Policies and procedures

We implement strict working policies, procedures and practices at all staff levels, and maintain, if not exceed staff ratios in line with those required by regulations.
